This is the class into which children are first admitted. The Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum is based on "The Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage" (Department for Education) and takes into account the needs, interests and enthusiasms of the children.

During their time in this class the children will be experiencing many new and varied experiences. Learning to co-operate and work and play alongside others will be of paramount importance. It is here that their attitudes towards school will begin to develop and so it is important that the children are helped to be confident and positive in their approach to school.
