Please do not forget we have the fun and interactive Numbots programme to help your child increase their addition and subtraction knowledge which underpins their mathematical understanding and will help to develop their foundational skills. Please do not hesitate to let myself or Mrs Meldon know if you are having problems accessing the site.

 

Year 1 Homework

 

Spellings

 

Please remind children their spellings should not start with a capital letter unless this is shown in the spelling list for proper nouns.

Maths: There is a maths worksheet to be completed, this is to recap previous learning.

 

English: Write a short diary entry about something that you did in the half term.

 

Year 2 Homework

 

Reading: There is a 60 second read activity sheet to complete each week.  By the end of the week, your child will need to be able to read the text within 60 seconds so please make sure you work on this as well as answering the questions, thank you.

Week 22nd May - 26th May 2023

 

This week we have been learning:

 

Maths - We have been learning about positions and how to describe the positions of shapes including above, below, forwards and backwards.

 

English - We have been planning and writing an explanation text about Mount Everest.

 

Geography – We have been describing some wonders of the world and creating our own landscapes with a variety of buildings.

 

Science – We have been creating and describing the features of icebergs.

 

RE – We have been exploring the beliefs of Humanists and comparing these to religious beliefs.

 

Art – We have been creating a self-portrait.

 

PE – We have been focusing on our gymnastics skills.

 

Computing – We have been creating PowerPoints using google slides using our research on penguins.
