Welcome to our Chick class page!

Class Teacher: Mrs Kershaw

It has been lovely welcoming the new children into Chick Class. They are settling well and quickly picking up the new routines.

Here are just a few reminders for the start of the term:

Labels

Please label everything! It is really helpful for us if the children's clothes are all named. Jumpers and cardigans are on and off quite regularly throughout the day and if they aren't named it makes it harder for us to reunite them with their owner.

PE

We will be doing PE on a Wednesday afternoon. Please make sure your child has their PE kit (all named) in a PE bag (also with their name on) in school. We will keep the PE bags in school until the end of the half term.

For girls that wear tights to school please make sure they have socks to change into in their PE bags.

Coats and wellies

Can children please bring a waterproof coat into school every day. This also needs to be named.

It would be helpful if each child could have a pair of (named!) wellies in school ready for outdoor exploring.

Spare clothes

If you can put a spare set of clothes in your children's bag in case they get wet/muddy playing or have an accident that would be really helpful.

Snacks and drinks

Children are offered a daily snack of fruit or veg provided free by the government.

Children can also bring in their own healthy snack. If you do choose to do this please limit them to the list below:

* Vegetable sticks

* A piece of cheddar cheese or babybel

* A piece of fresh or dried fruit.

* Breadsticks, plain pretzels, banana bread, malt loaf, oat/rice cakes and small pitta.

Snacks must be nut free.

No chocolate, sweets or crisps.

We also offer free milk to children under 5. Once children have reached their 5th birthday they can pay to continue to have milk at snack time. Please ask at the office for details of how to do this.

Children are asked to bring a named water bottle in each day. These are available to be easily accessed by the children during the day. Squash and fruit juice are not permitted.

Topic

Our topic this half term is All About Me. We will be talking about ourselves and our families. We will look at the world around us as we prepare for Harvest time and the changes that Autumn brings.

Reading books:

This half term our whole class story books will include:
