Welcome to Canewdon Primary School.
We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.
Thank you for visiting!
All adults at Canewdon School have high expectations and set challenging tasks to boost children's learning. Assessment informs future planning in lessons and lessons are designed and matched to individual learners' development needs. We strive to encourage children to engage in their learning and show curiosity and enthusiasm. This is supported by a positive learning environment.
We strive as a school to do our best at all times and to work together with parents to improve all areas of the school including our curriculum and ethos. Our current strengths and areas for development are on this website in our School and Post Ofsted Action Plan. I welcome your comments.
At Canewdon School we are committed to working closely with parents and governors and to using all the resources of the local community to make learning meaningful and relevant for the pupils. We believe in using numerous experiences in and beyond the classroom to motivate and challenge pupils to reach the highest levels of achievement.
We are very proud of our school and fully recognise the significant role that parents play. Confidence in a school comes from knowing and understanding what is happening within it. I hope you will take advantage of the occasions for meeting with us and attend consultations with your child’s teacher in order for you to fully understand the school. Our school has an Open Door Policy and we will deal with any concerns as quickly as possible so as to cause the minimum disruption to your child’s education.
It is important that mutual understanding and trust should be the basis of our shared responsibility. Parents play such an important role in matters such as regular, punctual attendance and in supporting the school in its requirements in terms of school uniform and positive behaviour. We fully realise the importance of this and the other issues stated in our home school contract which we ask you, your child and the teacher to sign.
If you require paper copies of any of the information on this website, please contact the school office on 01702 258238 (admin@canewdon.essex.sch.uk).
I welcome you and wish your child every success in their journey towards a better education and a future as a global citizen. We hope that we at Canewdon School, together with your support, can make a difference.
