Purpose of Study
A high-quality geography education should inspire pupils’ curiosity and equip them with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources, and natural and human environments. They should gain a deep insight into the Earth’s processes, understanding the interaction between physical and human processes and the formation and use of landscapes and environments. Geographical knowledge, understanding and skills help children understand how the Earth’s features are shaped, interconnected and change over time.
Who is the Canewdon Geographer?
The Canewdon Geographer has a robust understanding of the Earth’s processes and can make connections between human and physical geography. They can use and apply compass directions and locational language and competently use atlases and maps to identify and locate continents, oceans and countries. The Canewdon Geographer can communicate geographically in a range of ways and can identify similarities and differences between places based on their landscapes and environments.
