Summer 1~  This half-term Parrot Class are learning:

Maths: Area & perimeter, Measure, Time

English: Narrative writing from another character's view; Free Verse poetry

Whole Class Reading: Information & Instructional texts

Science: Living Things~ Life cycles & reproduction

Geography: How is the UK and our local environment changing?

R.E: How has belief in Christianity and Islam impacted on music and art through history?

Art: Mega Materials

Computing: Programming

Music: Composition; Junior Music Festival

PSHE: How can our choices make a difference to the environment?

French: Clothes; Leisure activities

P.E~ Athletics  This coming week on Thursday (outside where possible)

Homework~ 25.04.25     

Maths~ Calculating area (in folders)

          ~Times tables (TTRockstars) and maths challenge practise

English~ Spelling Shed online (see link below)  Log in details are in your reading records.  Please read parent letter below for more information.  

Make sure you can log in to this and complete the activity set. Choose games to play too!

Reading~ Remember to write any reading in your reading records- at least 5 times during the week!

Homework should be completed/handed in by Friday.

Spellings

Here is a 'Spelling Menu' of activities to choose from when practising your spellings.  Choose 1 or 2 different activities a week to support memorising spelling patterns.

These are common exception words all children should be able to read and spell by the end of year 4.

Reading

Our class reading race score this week is: 58%   

Can you read 5 or more times a week?

Can you achieve your reading target this half-term?  Keep reading regularly and discuss texts at home- remember to log all reading you are doing.  Please bring reading records to school daily and return books to school when you are confident to 'quiz'.
