Homework  

Set: Friday 8th December 2023  

Homework books due in on: Wednesday 13th  December 2023  

Please do not forget we have the fun and interactive Numbots programme to help your child increase their addition and subtraction knowledge which underpins their mathematical understanding and will help to develop their foundational skills. Please do not hesitate to let myself or Mrs Boyce know if you are having problems accessing the site.  

Show and tell is no longer be taking place which is to ensure that no belongings are lost or damaged. 

Just to make you aware with reading for those students on accelerated reading, they will do a quiz after they finish a book and if they do get less than 60% we will send the same book back so that the child can become more confident with the book. This will test their comprehension skills. 

We have sent home login details to educationcity. We will be sometimes setting additional homework to do on this website that you can access from home. It is a great learning resource.

Please do write clearly in reading records if you have finished a book with a child so that we know when to change the book. If it is just written that you have read part of the book or the name of the book it may not be clear that the book has been completed.

Please remind children their spellings should not start with a capital letter unless this is shown in the spelling list for proper nouns.

Week 4th  - 8st  December 2023  

This week we have been learning:  

Maths  - We have been learning about counting edges and faces in 3-D shapes.   

English – We have been writing diary entries that include subordinating conjunctions. 

RE – We have been learning about advent and why it is so important.  

PE – We have been working on team building skills.    

Science-  We have been learning about methods and planning a scientific test.

DT – We have learned about different equipment used with food and explored different combinations of food. 

Robin class and Chick class have continued rehearsing for our nativity play this week which we cannot wait to share with you soon!
