They are fluent inall areas of mathematics and are given time to embed and practise skills to ensure deeper understanding. Their recall of facts is accurate and quick. The Canewdon Mathematician can reason mathematically and can confidently use a wide range of mathematical language. They can apply their broad range of skills and knowledge to a variety of problem-solving opportunities by working systematically and methodically. They make meaningful connections between mathematics and othersubject areas and use these opportunities to develop fluency, reasoning and problem- solving capability.
